The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara on Wednesday, July 20, met with Nigerien Speaker, Ousseini Tinni and President Muhammadu Buhari.

According to The Nation, the closed-door meeting was held inside the President’s Office at the State House in Abuja.
The meeting, which lasted about one hour, was termed ‘private’. At the end of the meeting, Dogara and Tinni did not speak with State House correspondents concerning issues discussed at the meeting.
Dogara dismissed the journalists that approached him with “No, this was a private meeting,”.
Meanwhile, Dogara has removed the chairman of the committee on appropriation, Mr Abdulmumin Jibrin.
The Punch reports that Jibrin, an APC member from Kano state, hard serious disagreements with his colleagues over the handling of the controversial 2016 budget.
Jibrin’s removal was announced on the floor of the House today, July 20 by Speaker Yakubu Dogara.
He was replaced by Hon Mustapha Bala Dawaki (APC, Kano), who hitherto chaired the committee on housing.
