Why guys are horny in sleep? Science explains morning wood

Most guys experience this peculiar situation: they wake up in the morning with their manhood taking a firm stand. Why do men feel so horny when they wake up or at night?

If you have such situations, you are not alone in them. Ladies, there is nothing wrong with your men, if they have their morning erections. The thing is quite common and doctors have a name for it: NPT or nocturnal penile tumescence. Here is what one scientist says:

“It’s typical of adolescents and young men, due to their peak levels of hormones, which correlate to the frequency of their erections and their need for release. Naturally, as men age, this occurrence wanes as their testosterone levels and sexual function decline.”

While the doctors have invented a rather complicated name, people just call it the “morning wood”. Some believe it is caused by the erotic dreams you have at night. But that’s not the only reason. Here is an amazing fact for you: even the babies (the boys) inside their mothers’ womb have these morning erections!

Scientists say those morning or night spontaneous erections may be used by your body to “air the penis”. The fresh blood inflow brings oxygen to it and sort of “airs” it. Others say that when your cognitive functions turn off during the sleep, the manhood gets to do as it “wills”. And it wants to be hard.

A doctor says:

“I mainly attribute morning wood to hormonal spikes and assume that it’s those spikes that bring on the dreams or cause men to be suddenly aware that their penis is sensitive during sleep.”

And here is another amazing revelation from this doctor on why men have no such erections during the daytime:

“The male brain emits an anti-erection chemical during their waking hours that helps keep them from springing an erection at socially inappropriate times.”

Whatever reason is behind the thing, most men feel horny in the morning or at night, and that’s perfectly Ok.
