34 ambassadorial nominees screened by Senate

The Senate committee on foreign affairs has screened 34 ambassadorial nominees.

These nominees were screened at the National Assembly in Abuja.

The screening of other nominees will be continued on Thursday, July 28.

Although 19 nominees were screened on Wednesday, July 27, 34 out of 47 have been screened.

Naij.com has compiled a list of the 19 ambassadorial nominees that were screened. They include:

1. Sunday Itegboye from Edo state.

2. Iliyasu . A.  Paragalda from Adamawa state.

3. Iyang Udoh-Inyang from Akwa-Ibom state.

4. Obinna Chukwuemeka Agbugba from Abia state.

5. Martins Nyong Cobham from Cross river state.

6. Ngozi Ukaeje from Imo state.

7.  Rahmatu Dunama from Taraba state.

8. Nonye Esther Udo from Anambra state.

9. Munir Liman from Bauchi state.

10. Odeka Janet Bisong from Cross river state.

11. Umaru Zainab-Salisu from Kebbi state.

12. Momoh Saidu Omeiza from Kogi state.

13. Kabiru Bala from Zamfara state.

14. Queen Nworlu from Edo state.

15. Abibat Sonaike from Ogun state.

16. Michael Femi Abikoye from Kwarra state.

17. Musa Saban Maman from Yobe state.

18. Bello Kazaure from Jigawa state.

19. Adesesan Olatunde from Ekiti state.

The screening which began at 11am ended at 6pm.

President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday, June 9, released the list of Ambassadorial nominees.

This was disclosed after Saraki read out the list of the 47 ambassadors on the floor of the Senate.

It will be recalled that one of the ambassadorial nominees, Vivian Okeke faltered when she was asked to sing the national anthem before the people assembled.

Mrs Okeke during the recital could not recite the last stanza of the National Anthem but was aided by Senator James Manager, a member of the committee.
