House Of Representatives member, Hon. Abdulmumin Jibrin has absolved a top colleague in the lower legislative arm of any wrongdoing in the current budget padding scandal rocking the Green Chamber.
Jibrin said in a message sent to a source that the colleague, House Leader, Honourable Femi Gbajabiamila is one of the very few individuals that had nothing to do with the padding.
According to him, apart Gbajabiamila, several other big wigs of the party in the House were all involved in the scandal. This includes the Chief Whip.

Jibrin, a lawmaker from Kano State, released a statement on Sunday with more allegations that Speaker, Yakubu Dogara colluded with his deputy, Yusuf Lasun, Chief Whip Alhassan Doguwa, and Minority Whip Leo Ogor to earmark up to N40 billion to themselves in the National Assembly budget.
Dogara has denied the claims with other members accusing Jibrin of not taking his removal as head of the appropriation in good fate.
It would be recalled that Gbajabiamila and Jibrin had been on opposing sides during the battle for the Speakership of the House in 2015. While Jibrin supported Dogara and was his right-hand man throughout the battle for the top seat, Gbajabiamila had the support of the party, the All Progressives Congress (APC).
But now, Jibrin and Dogara have fallen out with each after the former was removed as chairman of the appropriation committee.
